Slay By Kay Cosmetics is a Black-owned, vegan cosmetics line specializing in quality products such as lip glosses, lipscrubs, lipsticks, lip pencils, and much more! I started my brand in Chicago during March 2020, which was the peak of Covid-19. I’ve always had a passion for makeup artistry since my early teenage years and decided to take the craft seriously during my freshman year of college. In 2016, I started my first freelance job as a Makeup Artist for my college’s fashion troop at Alabama A&M University. From there, I began to do Homecoming makeup for students on my campus and off- campus, campus fashion shows, and other local events. I left A&M that year and began school at Illinois State University where I continued to be a makeup artist. Over the years, I began to gain my own personal clientele and would perform services such as strip lash applications, full face makeup services, and brow arching. We’re currently still going strong and looking to gain more clientele and spread the word about our amazing brand!
